JC Jackson just continues to make plays for New England Patriots defense | Chris Mason

FOXBOROUGH — JC Jackson didn’t start the game, but he sure as heck finished it.

With Miami trying to mount a late comeback, Jackson’s instincts kicked in at the goal line.

Blanketing Lynn Bowden Jr. with 1:33 left on the clock, the cornerback saw Ryan Fitzpatrick targeting Mark Gesicki instead and broke off his coverage. Joejuan Williams got a hand on the ball and Jackson whizzed over to secure the interception. He bolted across the Patriots logo, took a seat for a touchback, and iced the 21-11 victory over the Dolphins.

Jackson finished with two more passes defensed — a team high — and recovered Damiere Byrd’s muffed punt on special teams.
