Spring football practices often don’t include much competition as team’s work through basic install. That is unless you reside in the New England Patriots’ defensive back room.
Throughout OTAs and minicamp, New England’s DB coaches awarded players points for doing things the right way. That included interceptions, pass breakups, hustle plays, etc.
The winner? Late free agent addition Jaylinn Hawkins.
Hawkins’ signing late in March may have flew under-the-radar for most, but the 26-year old was thrown right into the mix with the projected top defense during the spring. He fit right in with the rest of the group, specifically his energy and effort.
