Javon Baker going on Instagram Live on Sunday morning after receiving a traffic ticket was not well-received by his team. In fact, according to head coach Jerod Mayo, the New England Patriots disciplined the rookie wide receiver for the comments he made on his stream.
“There is a penalty,” Mayo told reporters during a press conference on Monday. However, he added that Baker’s discipline did not involve getting suspended for the Patriots’ upcoming regular season opener versus the Cincinnati Bengals.
Baker started his live stream after receiving a traffic ticket. He claimed that he was getting yelled at by a police officer “for no reason” after dropping somebody off at the airport, and that he would pay law enforcement “with my tax dollars” meaning that “you work for me.
