Jaguars request to interview ex-Patriots assistant

The Jacksonville Jaguars announced they requested to interview Brian Flores for their vacant head coach position after they fired Doug Pederson earlier this month.

The New York Jets and the Chicago Bears have also requested an interview with Flores. Because the 43-year-old is the defensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings, they can’t interview him until Jan. 16.

Flores began his career in the NFL in 2008 with the New England Patriots as a special teams assistant. He was named the safeties coach in 2012 and then moved to linebackers coach in 2016.
