FOXBORO — Of the four starting quarterbacks left in the postseason, Blake Bortles counts in the “other guys” category.
There’s one player in Tom Brady who has earned every form of praise imaginable, then Jacksonville’s Bortles, Nick Foles of the Philadelphia Eagles and Case Keenum of the Minnesota Vikings, all of whom bring resumes that pale in comparison to the Patriots all-timer.
Bortles has been stuck with the underachiever tag ever since he came into the league as the third overall pick in the 2014 draft. In his first three seasons, he never completed 60 percent of his passes.
