The Arizona Cardinals will have a new backup quarterback to Kyler Murray. According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, they are signing Jacoby Brissett.
Brissett enters his 10th NFL season and will be reunited with Drew Petzing, the Cardinals' offensive coordinator. Petzing was the quarterbacks coach for the Cleveland Browns in 2022 and Brissett played there for one season, starting 11 games.
Brissett spent last season with the New England Patriots, where he started five games before first-round pick Drake Maye took over. He has spent time with New England (twice), the Indianapolis Colts, Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns and Washington Commanders.
