FOXBORO — Third-string quarterback Jacoby Brissett may not get a chance to suit up for another game this season. But last night, it was showtime, and he delivered an exciting comeback in a preseason finale that wasn’t supposed to carry a lot of drama.
Brissett played wire to wire and was mostly solid, completing 28-of-39 passes for 341 yards, four touchdowns and an interception in the Patriots’ 40-38 loss against the Giants at Gillette Stadium. He added four runs for 29 yards and a score, and the Patriots erased a 20-point, second-half deficit before giving it away at the end.
