EDIT: Hamilton returned to the field on the next defensive drive.
The fourth preseason game is when players are fighting for final spots on the New England Patriots' 53-man roster. One of those players is second-year defensive tackle Woodrow Hamilton. The 2016 undrafted free agent has been one of the better backup defenders against the New York Giants.
It is therefore tough to see him leave the game with an injury. Midway through the second quarter, Hamilton stayed down on the ground after appearing to hurt his right knee on a running play:
Judged by the clip above it is hard to judge what happened – but the defensive tackle had to limp off the field with the help of trainers following his injury.
