For the fourth consecutive year, former New England Patriots defensive end Richard Seymour has been named a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
A first-round draft pick (sixth overall) by the Patriots in 2001, Seymour spent his first eight seasons in New England, helping the team reach four Super Bowls and three championships. In 2009, Seymour was traded to the Oakland Raiders where he completed his career in 2012.
Over his 12 pro seasons, Seymour logged 496 total tackles, 57.5 sacks, seven Pro Bowl selections, three first-team All-Pro honors, and was named a member of the Patriots 50th Anniversary Team, Patriots All 2000’s Team, and the NFL’s All 2000’s Team.
