The offense obviously isn’t good enough. The unit is among the worst in the NFL in most major categories in 2023, has benched its starting quarterback, and is reportedly dealing with dysfunction behind the scenes.
A big part of the once-mighty Patriots offense falling to its current depths, however, is the personnel that they have on that side of the ball.
Head coach/de facto general manager Bill Belichick has been faced with criticism about not caring as much about the offense as he does about the defense, but that simply is not true. Belichick has consistently devoted assets to trying to improve the offense.
