New England’s Rutgers pipeline makes a little more sense now.
Over the past decade, four starters in Bill Belichick’s secondary have come out of the small New Jersey school. A guest on the McCourty twins’ Double Coverage podcast last weekend, Logan Ryan said the Rutgers guys “finessed” the Patriots into taking them.
Appearing on Good Morning Football, Ryan expounded on that, revealing there was a reason Scarlet Knights defensive backs seemed to test so well when Belichick came around. It all started with Devin McCourty, who the Patriots took in the first round back in 2010.
