FOXBOROUGH, Mass. —
The start of the 2021 NFL draft is just one week away and the New England Patriots are currently slotted with their highest draft position in 13 years.
The Patriots finished third in the AFC East division last year with a 7-9 record, which landed them the No. 15 overall pick in this year's draft. The last time they had a higher pick was in 2008, when they selected linebacker Jerod Mayo at No. 10 overall. Mayo went on to become the 2008 Defensive Rookie of the Year and later made two Pro Bowls, was part of a Super Bowl-winning team and was named to New England's 2010s All-Decade Team.
