The initial 53-man roster for the New England Patriots is finally set.
Following Sunday's preseason finale, the team has spent the last two days cutting their roster down before Tuesday's deadline. They clearly had to make some tough decisions on a few players many projected would make the team.
One of the most noteworthy, yet expected, cuts was former starting quarterback Bailey Zappe. His exit officially brought an end to former coach Bill Belichick's quarterback vision for the team over the last two seasons. The Patriots will now shift their focus to coaching up rookies Drake Maye and Joe Milton III, while Jacoby Brissett serves as the top veteran option at quarterback.
