Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski can earn up to $3.3 million in performance-based incentives, according to multiple reports Thursday afternoon.
Gronkowski — who was scheduled to make $9 million this year — has the opportunity to max out his deal if he hits three of the following statistical milestones during the regular season: 70 receptions, 80 percent playing time, nine touchdown receptions, and 1,085 receiving yards. Each incentive is worth $1.1 million.
The targets are all a touch higher than Gronkowski’s numbers last season, in which he logged 69 receptions, 79.3 percent playing time, eight touchdown receptions, and 1,084 receiving yards.
