New England and Philadelphia both started slow on offense, as the Patriots' offensive line struggled to protect Tom Brady early. Josh Kline and Shaq Mason, in particular, struggled.
However, the Patriots would turn it around on offense, scoring touchdowns on Tom Brady throws on consecutive drives to take a 14-0 lead. The first score was by James White, following a beautiful 30-yard catch and run by Scott Chandler.
