MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. — Tom Brady sat at his locker, slowly peeling off his game equipment, left knee brace and the heavy tape that’s typically rolled around his ankles. He sat there longer than usual, the aftershock from a stunning loss settling upon him.

When Brady finally rose to make his way to the shower, pain was evident in his every movement. For the first time all year, he looked like an old quarterback, as he walked gingerly and with a noticeable limp, favoring his right ankle.

Later, he needed the aid of the wall to help him down a step as he left the podium following his media session.
