FOXBORO — The Patriots offense executed the game plan to perfection. Tom Brady & Co. did just about everything right in order to beat the Los Angeles Chargers yesterday. Everything, except put the ball in the end zone.
They held the ball for an eternity with Brady effectively using his running backs in the passing game. Between the 20’s, they ate up the clock with lengthy drives. That, in turn, helped the defense by keeping Philip Rivers and the Los Angeles offense on the sideline.
They just had no finish. They would move the ball almost the length of the field, only to settle for field goals, going 1-for-4 in the red zone during the 21-13 win.
