FOXBORO — Jimmy Garoppolo has shown he can stand in the pocket and take a hit to make a play. And do it repeatedly. When it comes to that category, he’s delivered on the toughness meter during his brief stint as starting quarterback of the Patriots.
But can he play hurt?
Does he need to prove that on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills to help himself down the road either with the Pats or another prospective NFL employer?
It’s interesting that a few former Patriots we contacted didn’t seem to think a distinction needs to be made, and actually rejected the notion that Garoppolo had to suck it up and play.
