Not every 3-8 season is the same. For the New England Patriots, it is believed to be the first step in their rebuild after the end of the Bill Belichick era. For the New York Jets, meanwhile, it is a major disappointment after the club had been a popular playoff and even Super Bowl pick in the offseason.
However, 11 weeks in it is clear New York is itself headed for a major rebuild. After head coach Robert Saleh was already fired earlier in the season, general manager Joe Douglas has now been let go as well: the Jets announced his firing on Tuesday.
