Chad Ryland is no stranger to a training camp competition. Just one year after beating out Nick Folk during his rookie year, Ryland now finds himself in another summer time battle with veteran Joey Slye.
In the 24-year-old’s eyes, however, the competition primarily lies within himself.
“My whole college career, high school career — baseball, soccer, whatever — I’ve always been a guy that’s more compete with myself,” Ryland said. “Because I know that’s how I progress the best and continue to get better because at the end of the day, that’s all I’m really trying to do is continue to make kicks and kick for a long time.
