Former Spain Park High School standout Michael Jackson was on his way out of the NFL when Sunday started. But by the afternoon, he had a new team.
At 7:30 a.m. Sunday, the Detroit Lions listed the cornerback among six players who were being waived. But around 4 p.m., the New England Patriots announced they had acquired Jackson from the Lions for an undisclosed pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
ESPN reported the pick as a conditional seventh-round selection.
After playing his college football at Miami (Florida), Jackson entered the NFL as a fifth-round choice of the Dallas Cowboys in the 2019 draft.
