ESPN announced Friday that Randy Moss, the former Patriots receiver and Pro Football Hall of Famer, will take a leave of absence from “NFL Countdown” while he deals with an unspecified medical issue.

“For nearly a decade, Randy has been an invaluable member of the team, consistently elevating Countdown with his insight and passion,’’ the statement said. “He has ESPN’s full support, and we look forward to welcoming him back when he is ready.”

Moss, 47, who had a record-setting stint with the Patriots from 2007 into the 2010 season, has been an NFL analyst at the network since 2016.
