A former Plano Senior High School standout is returning to the state.
Running back Rex Burkhead has agreed to terms with the Houston Texans, as reported Tuesday by John McClain of the Houston Chronicle.
Burkhead, 30, spent the past four years with the New England Patriots after entering the league with the Cincinnati Bengals in the sixth round of the 2013 NFL draft.
The Nebraska product’s stay in New England spanned 1,026 rushing yards, 856 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns on 349 offensive touches over his regular seasons.
