Former New England Patriots running back Rex Burkhead hung up the cleats on Monday evening, ending a 10-year career in the NFL. He made an announcement on X.
He spent the first four seasons of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals, before finishing off his run with stints at both the Patriots and Houston Texans. All told, he recorded 253 carries for 1,026 yards and 11 touchdowns with the Patriots.
Perhaps his most famous touchdown during his time in New England was the push to the pylon against the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2018 AFC Championship Game.
