Former Patriots QB signs with ESPN, joins Stephen A. Smith on ‘First Take’

Cam Newton has finally signed a deal with a big-name organization -- but it’s not in the NFL.

The former New England Patriots quarterback has agreed to a contract with ESPN, where he’ll be a regular contributor on the mid-day debate show “First Take.” Newton is set to make his first appearance on Friday, Oct. 11 during a live show at Tennessee State University.

“I’ve always brought passion and energy into everything I do, and that won’t change at ESPN," Newton said in ESPN’s announcement. “I’m looking forward to the opportunity to share my perspective and go toe-to-toe with the best in the business.
