Former Patriots fan-favorite finds a home after ping-ponging across AFC (report)

Bailey Zappe is done bouncing back and forth across the AFC, for now.

The former New England Patriots quarterback has signed a one-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reports.

The man who once sparked “Zappe Fever” and “Zappe Hour” bounced around the AFC last season, spending training camp in New England.

After being waived as roster cuts, Zappe landed with the Chiefs practice squad. In October, the quarterback-needed Browns signed Zappe to their 53-man roster.

Now after hitting free agency, Zappe is heading back to Kansas City, where he’s expected to compete with Gardner Minshew for the backup quarterback job behind Patrick Mahomes.
