Former Patriots defensive star Richard Seymour elected to NFL Hall of Fame

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. —

A former New England Patriots defensive star who spent eight seasons with the team, winning three Super Bowl championships, was elected for enshrinement into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Richard Seymour will join the Hall of Fame Class of 2022 at an induction ceremony in Canton, Ohio, this summer.

The official announcement was made Thursday night during the NFL Honors ceremony in Los Angeles.

Seymour spent the first eight seasons of his 12-year NFL career with the Patriots and played an important role in delivering six division titles, four conference crowns and three Super Bowl championships to New England.
