Another member of the Patriots‘ coaching staff from the 2024 season appears to have landed a new role elsewhere.
DeMarcus Covington, New England’s defensive coordinator under now-fired head coach Jerod Mayo, is reportedly set to head to the Packers as the team’s new defensive line coach. ESPN’s Rob Demovsky originally reported the news on Thursday morning.
“Contracts not signed yet but agreements in place. Deals should be finalized soon,” added Demovsky.
Covington, 35, had been with the Patriots since 2017, when he was hired to the staff as a coaching assistant. He then moved up to the chain to become outside linebackers coach in 2019, and the defensive line coach from 2020-2023.
