Former New England Patriots defensive end Deatrich Wise Jr. reportedly agreed to a one-year deal worth up to $5 million with the Washington Commanders, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Wise was a Patriots mainstay on the defense for eight years. He was drafted by the team in 2017 and went on to record 314 combined tackles and 34 sacks during his time in New England. In 2024, he recorded 29 tackles and five sacks on the year.

Wise will now have a chance to compete on a Commanders team that made it all the way to the NFC Championship Game last season.
