Former Patriots and Boston College defensive lineman Ron Brace has died at the age of 29.
The official Boston College football Twitter account put the news out this afternoon.
"We're shocked & saddened at the loss of our great #ronbrace #BCEagles hearts are heavy. Thoughts & prayers for his family & friends," it read.
The Springfield native was a second-round draft pick of the Patriots in 2009 and spent four seasons playing for his favorite team. He recorded 39 tackles and one forced fumble in 39 games before the Patriots released him in December 2012.
Brace had a laidback demeanor mixed with a witty personality, and his infectious smile was always a welcomed sight for his teammates.
