A former Nebraska running back has announced his retirement from the National Football League. Rex Burkhead has retired from the NFL after ten seasons.
He played for the Cincinnati Bengals, New England Patriots, and Houston Texans in his ten seasons. The Texas native won a Super Bowl with the Patriots during the 2018 season.
Burkhead finishes his professional career with 1,908 rushing yards and 17 rushing touchdowns. He also had 192 catches for 1,534 yards and nine touchdowns.
He made his announcement on social media.
