The Patriots’ Sunday night clash with the Falcons was supposed to be about a rematch of Super Bowl opponents. Instead, a large portion of the game became about a meteorological mystery. Fog smothered Gillette Stadium, becoming noticeable both to the in-stadium crowd as well as the television audience.
As the third quarter got underway, it became an unmistakable factor in the game (and its viewing):
