Some thoughts following Sunday night’s tough loss to the Buccaneers:
1) When it came to quarterback play on Sunday night, Mac Jones ended up stealing the spotlight from Tom Brady during New England’s disappointing 19-17 loss to the Buccaneers.
The rookie was terrific, completing 78% of his passes in less than ideal conditions. Despite the fact it was raining all night, he missed on just nine attempts after connecting on 31-of-40 for 275yds along with two touchdowns.
At one point Jones connected on 19 straight, with the streak starting at the 12:44 mark in the second quarter before it finally ended on a misfire to Jonnu Smith with 5:31 left to go in the game.
