FOXBORO — This is Tom Brady country. And in his backyard he remains, and will always be, the top dog.
Whether the NFL claims he “approved of the scheme to tamper with game balls” during the AFC Championship Game, or he intentionally deep-sixed a pertinent cellphone with respect to the Deflategate investigation, Brady is still the man in New England.
This is his sanctuary, his comfort zone. And when he headed out on the field behind Gillette Stadium to start training camp yesterday morning, fans packing the stands in the sweltering heat erupted with the first of many “Brady, Brady, Brady” chants.
