The 2023 NFL regular season is in the books, and the calendar will quickly turn to the so-called “Black Monday” — the first day after the season that traditionally sees head coach firings all over the league. The first of those has already happened: the Atlanta Falcons announced that they have parted ways with Arthur Smith.
“Decisions like this are never easy and they never feel good,” team owner Arthur Blank said in a statement. “We have profound respect for Coach Smith and appreciate all the hard work and dedication he has put into the Falcons over the last three years.
