Cam Newton threw three interceptions Sunday. He got benched, too. And after the game, former NFL quarterback Jeff Garcia said that as long as Newton is playing like this, he shouldn't dress the way he normally does.
The Patriots (2-4) lost 33-6 to the 49ers (4-3) and Newton didn't play in the fourth quarter as Jarrett Stidham closed out the game. Newton will start for New England in Week 8 at Buffalo, but Garcia said Newton shouldn't show up in a flashy outfit while he's struggling.
"There's nothing good going your way," Garcia, who played for the 49ers for part of his NFL career, said on NBC Sports Bay Area's 49ers postgame show.
