Even after boos, Jerod Mayo sees light at end of tunnel for Patriots

New England Patriots coach Jerod Mayo is still confident in the direction the team is ultimately headed, despite the ongoing struggles this season.

The Patriots are currently sitting with a 3-13 record after dropping an ugly 40-7 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 17. It was the team's worst loss of the season, and it ended with "fire Mayo" chants breaking out at Gillette Stadium.

“For me, my confidence is still high," said Mayo, via ESPN's Mike Reiss. "We’re on a journey. So you’re going to have to go through the fire, go through the boos, go through the criticism to get to where you want to go.
