Eliot Wolf admits biggest mistake with Patriots last offseason

New England Patriots executive vice president of player personnel Eliot Wolf revealed his biggest free agency mistake last offseason.

The Patriots managed to keep most of their players in-house by renegotiating contracts and signing extensions. However, they failed to make a major splash on the free-agent market. Even the signings the Patriots did make were not as productive as originally planned.

For example, veteran offensive tackle Chukwuma Okorafor only appeared in one game for the team, and wide receiver K. J. Osborn was traded away mid-season. Those signings were underwhelming, to say the least. That could change this offseason, as the Patriots have $128 million in projected cap space, per Over the Cap.
