Eagles notebook: Philadelphia fans, players getting cold shoulder from Minnesota locals

ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Patriots are used to being treated as the vaunted enemies for neutral fans when they roll into town for a Super Bowl.

Not this year.

Their opponents for Super Bowl LII, the Philadelphia Eagles, own that mantle this time around, as Minnesotans have made it quite clear they did not appreciate the reception the Vikings received in the City of Brotherly Love for the NFC Championship Game.

When the Eagles captains were introduced during the “NFL Opening Night” festivities at the Xcel Energy Center, they were met with boos. Locals have gone so far as to ban Eagles and their fans from restaurants and Airbnb accomodations, among other unpleasantries.
