According to New England Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo, spring practices have three main focuses: 1. Have a basic understanding of the fundamentals and the X’s and O’s, 2. Build camaraderie and, 3. Get out healthy.
As the Patriots began their third and final week of OTA’s on Tuesday, rookie quarterback Drake Maye has impressed in those aspects and more.
“He’s been impressive,” offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt said. “He’s come out, he’s taken everything from the classroom, everything from our individual periods, and he’s applied them to the team drills. He’s been impressive so far.
