The New England Patriots are running double-duty at the quarterback position in the early portions of the 2024 NFL season. On the one hand, they are preparing starter Jacoby Brissett for the challenges at hand; on the other hand, they are making sure to properly develop third overall draft pick Drake Maye behind the scenes.
How do the Patriots plan to accomplish the latter, though, while also putting Brissett in a competitive situation? As head coach Jerod Mayo pointed out earlier this month, there are various avenues the team is exploring.
Among them is giving Maye both first- and scout-team reps in practice.
