New England Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo has made it known that progression for a young NFL quarterback is far from a linear path.
Rookie Drake Maye experienced those bumps in the road firsthand this week during his first two padded practices as the Patriots worked through “tough” third-and-long situations.
In the midst of working through rookie growing pains, veteran Jacoby Brissett’s message to the youngster was simple.
“Keep going man,” Brissett told reporters on Friday. “It’s a long training camp. I think the best thing that he’s doing is putting one foot in front of the other.
