Jerod Mayo and Bill Belichick have known each other for years, with the latter coaching Mayo for eight NFL seasons while he played linebacker for the New England Patriots. But there hasn’t been much communication between the two after Mayo took over for Belichick as coach earlier this year.
Appearing on the “Up & Adams” show on Monday from Gillette Stadium, Mayo was asked whether the legendary coach reached out to him after being named the organization’s new coach.
“We haven’t had a lot of communication since I’ve been here and honestly, for me, my focus is the players.
