Details released on Ben Watson’s contract with the Patriots

The Patriots solidified their tight end depth chart last week by announcing the return of 2004 first round pick Ben Watson. On Saturday, ESPN’s Mike Reiss provided insight into the structure of the deal that brings the 15-year NFL veteran’s career full circle.

Benjamin Watson contract: 1 year, $3 million

Signing bonus: $600k
Base salary: $1.45 million
Roster bonus: $300k ($18,750 per game on 46-man roster)
Incentives: $650k
Salary cap charge: $3 million
