Despite drops, Tom Brady reiterates 'trust' for Patriots receivers

FOXBORO — Dropped passes hampered the Patriots badly before they were able to break away and beat the Jets, 30-23, this afternoon at Gillette Stadium.

But quarterback Tom Brady was not about to complain about the performance of his receivers.

“I wish we had all executed better,” Brady said when asked about the drops — at least five by Brandon LaFell, and others by Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman and James White.

But Brady, whose connections with Edelman, Gronkowski and Danny Amendola helped seal a fourth-quarter comeback to improve to 6-0, was seeing the bright side of his receivers’ performances after the game.
