David Andrews is offensive MVP without even playing, and more takeaways from the Patriots’ preseason loss to the Commanders

The New England Patriots wrapped up their 2024 preseason with a 20-10 loss to the Washington Commanders on Sunday night. There were some good things, and a whole lot of bad.

Here are 10 takeaways from the Patriots’ final game before the NFL roster cutdown deadline on Tuesday.

David Andrews is offensive MVP without even playing: The only starter missing along the Patriots offensive line on Sunday night was center David Andrews, and his absence was noticeable. Nick Leverett may be a super sub who can serve in a backup capacity at center and both guard spots, but he was out of his element on Sunday despite Washington resting most of its starters on defense.
