Brian Hoyer and David Andrews have spent a lot of time on practice fields and in stadiums together – five NFL seasons worth, in fact.
But Hoyer, who spent eight seasons as a quarterback with the Patriots, couldn’t help but marvel listening to Andrews explain in detail on the first episode of their new show, “The Quick Snap,” how the Patriots used to set up pass plays for Julian Edelman by repeatedly using him as a blocker – only to eventually slip him out into a route when defenses weren’t ready for it.
“To hear a center talk about this … that just speaks to your knowledge of offense and what you’ve learned over a 10-year career,” Hoyer told Andrews.
