Former New England Patriots running back Danny Woodhead has traded his football cleats for golf clubs as he looks to qualify for the U.S. Open.
Woodhead advanced to the final qualifying rounds earlier this month. The U.S. Open is set to take place at The Country Club in Brookline, Mass.
On Tuesday, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick offered his congratulations to Woodhead before the team began OTA’s.
The latter played three seasons with the Patriots, recording 1,199 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns during that timeframe. His best season came in 2010, when he carried the ball 97 times for 547 yards and five touchdowns.
