The decision by some Patriots player to kneel during the national anthem on Sunday has generated a range of responses. Among the differences of opinion are two former Patriots linemen, Damien Woody and Matt Light.
Both Light and Woody started on the Patriots’ offensive line during New England’s first two Super Bowl seasons. Each reacted differently to seeing players kneel for the anthem in response to comments made by President Trump.
Light told the Boston Herald’s Karen Guregian that for the first time, he was “ashamed to be a Patriot.”
“If you think that it’s OK to take a knee during our national anthem and disrespect openly the national anthem, you are wrong,” Light told Guregian.
