Unlike the 2019 season, running back Damien Harris has carried his share of the load and more in training camp for the New England Patriots this month.
As a rookie, the former Alabama standout had four rushing attempts in two games. But with Sony Michel, New England’s leading rusher the previous two seasons, on the physically-unable-to-perform list after offseason foot surgery, Harris has stayed busy during the Patriots’ practices for the 2020 season.
“It’s been good,” Harris said. “It’s given me an opportunity to improve. That’s what I think is most important -- coming in and showing that I can be dependable, I can be competitive, I can play the game at a high level.
